BlackBerry Bold will be hitting stores this coming November 4. This is the announcement was made by AT&T yesterday.
The company will be the sole provider of service for the new BlackBerry smart phone. It will be using HSDPA network in more than 300 key cities in the United States. Networks from other countries like Japan and Korea will also be providing service for the said phone.
BlackBerry Bold or BlackBerry 900 was first announced in May, alongside the unconfirmed news of BlackBerry Thunder to be released by Verizon Wireless.
Compared to Thunder, the Blackberry Bold phone has a smaller screen and a complete QWERTY keyboard. The Thunder has a on-screen keyboard that makes it iTouch-ish. Bold is powered by 624-MHz mobile processor. It has a 1GB expandable storage, and like many smart phones it has GPS and Wi-Fi capability.
According to AT&T, the BlackBerry phone can actually run both cellular video and mobile music services. It is also compatible with BlackBerry Enterprise Server.
Perhaps a countering this announcement, T-Mobile USA also announced that their G1 Android phone is now on sale. Needless to say, we can expect to see more smart phones like HP’s iPAQ series.
